Celebrate Banned Books Week!
Banned Books Week starts Sunday, September 26, and ends on Saturday, October 2, but you can celebrate your freedom to read all year long! This annual event began in the 80s and focuses on the efforts across the country to ban or challenge books, in order to bring about the awareness of censorship. Banned books have actually been removed from circulation, and challenged books remain available to be read.
The Easton Public Library has put up its annual Banned Books display, across from the Innovation Space. It features challenged books from the past several years, as well as the
Top 10 Most Challenged Books of 2020. Stop by the Library to check out our display, and to learn why some of your favorite books have been banned or challenged.
