Collection Spotlight: Biographies
Have you visited the Biography section lately?
It's located near the newspapers and magazine and it became so large that we had to make the Memoirs their own section! This week, we are highlighting some of the books housed in the Biography section.
Check one out today to learn something new or step into someone else's shoes for a little while.
The Crown on Netflix is showing the world a different side to Britain's Royal Family. Following the life and career of the current monarch, Elizabeth II, the show takes viewers on a journey that is leaving them wanting more!
If you've finished Season 4 and can't wait any longer for the next release, why not try a book featuring some of the star players of the series?
We have books on most of the members of the Royal Family and their Prime Ministers: Winston Churchill and Elizabeth II are some obvious choices, but we also have biographies on Duchess Camilla, Prince Charles, Princess Diana, and Margaret Thatcher. The United States Supreme Court has been around since the founding of our nation. But it wasn't until the 1900s that the first woman sat on the bench. The Library's collection includes many works on the lives of Supreme Court Justices. Some great options are below!

Journey back to the little house on the prairie with Laura Ingalls Wilder narrating her life as she remembers it -- this is the real stuff, not the fictional version found in her famous book series.
Malcolm X fought for the rights of millions of people. Discover how he did it and the impact his work continues to have today. Finally, learn about the life of New York City recluse, Huguette Clark. A wealthy woman who decided to spend most of life in the mansion she called home with very little staff. A fascinating read that shines a mere sliver of light on one of the greatest cities in the world.
