Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made

Available on Disney+

Rated: PG

Reviewed by: Kristine

The unfortunately named Timmy Failure is a quirky, deadpan, oddball kid who sees the world in a very unique way. He lives with his hipster mother in Portland, Oregon and runs a detective agency with his BFF, a 1,500-pound polar bear called Total. That’s right, it’s the Total Failure Detective Agency. Timmy is sweet but sad, and a little delusional. He thinks the Russians are after him and that their operative is his classmate. My family thought that the movie was OK but we also came away feeling a bit somber for Timmy and his mother who seem to be struggling in more ways than one. Portland is a colorful and energetic backdrop and I wanted to see more. Overall, the movie is a fun and family friendly distraction.

Based on the book series by Stephan Pastis. The books are available as a downloadable audiobook on RBDigital.

Bad Education

Available from HBO

Intended Audience: Adult/Mature Audiences

Bad Education chronicles one of the most sensational scandals in public school history. Dr. Frank Tassone, Superintendent of Rosyln Schools on Long Island, is everything any district could want in an administrator, or is he? He’s great, accessible, a born leader. He’s also a thief. This slick, fact-paced film, with A-list stars such as Hugh Jackman, Allison Janney, and Ray Romano, takes viewers on a wild ride inside the halls of competitive academia.

Highly recommended.

Six degrees of separation note: Frank Tassone was my high school English teacher during the early days of his career in the mid-70s.

The next day, Steve's semi- twin brother, Ben (James Marsden), questions Jen and Judy about his brother's whereabouts. Throughout the season, Jen and Judy are entwined in lies while trying to keep the skeleton in the closet.

The Joe Rogan Experience is the most popular podcast on the market. Joe Rogan has in-depth honest conversations with a wide array of guests. When David Lee Roth was a guest, David talked about Van Halen and what it was like to be a paramedic. When Travis Barker was a guest, Travis talked about his near death experience and how it changed his life. Elon Musk was a recent guest and explained how to pronounce his baby's name.
